Who is responsible
dc.watch is a fan project run by Amber van den Berg. For privacy questions, email info@wewatchstuff.com.
What we store
If you sign in, we store your email address and the items you mark as watched or skipped so we can provide your account and save your progress. A login cookie keeps you signed in for up to 60 days.
Your account works across all We Watch Stuff sites. Your progress stays separate for each site, but everything is managed in one place.
If you are signed out, the items you mark as watched or skipped are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). You can remove them by clearing your browser's site data for dc.watch.
We also collect limited usage and error information, such as pages visited, clicks, referrers, performance and errors. Your email address is not included and IP addresses are masked.
Two analytics cookies help measure visits: ai_user recognizes a browser for 1 year, and ai_session groups activity into a visit, ending after 30 minutes of inactivity or 24 hours of continuous use. They are not linked to your account or email.
Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Usage and error data is kept for up to 2 years.
We process account data to provide the service to you. We use limited usage and error data for our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the site.
Service providers
- Microsoft Azure hosts the site and stores usage and error data in West Europe (Netherlands). Microsoft Application Insights processes the usage information.
- Resend sends login emails and processes your email address in the United States. Resend uses safeguards including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and EU Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
Other websites
Posters load from Amazon (IMDb's image server) and trailer previews from YouTube, so your browser connects to their servers. Trailers open on YouTube, which applies its own privacy policy.
Shop and watch links go to Amazon. After you click one, Amazon may set cookies that credit this site for purchases you make.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to certain uses of it. Email info@wewatchstuff.com.
You can also file a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
